Chief architect of the Synergistic Processor Elements in the Cell Broadband Engine — the chip behind the PlayStation 3 and the world's first petaflop supercomputer. Since rejoining IBM Research in 2011, Peter has focused on optimising systems for big data, analytics, and cloud computing with accelerated processing. He holds over 100 patents and has been a key contributor to the OpenCAPI coherent accelerator interface.
